How do I transfer a certificate from the old 0.1.x branch to the new 0.2.x branch?

Transfering an SSL certificate from the old 0.1.x branch of SSL-Explorer is quite simple.

  1. Before removing your old 0.1.x installation login to setup mode and take a note of the alias of your web server certificate. You should also make sure you have the passphrase set during installation. Without either of these you will not be able to import the certificate into the new branch.

  2. In the old 0.1.x branch locate $SSLX_HOME/conf/keystore file and copy this to a safe location.

  3. Install the latest version of SSL-Explorer from the 0.2.x branch. It is advisable NOT to install the new version over the old.

  4. During Step 1 of the Installation Wizard select "Import Existing Certificate" and click Next

  5. Select the certificate type as "JKS", enter the alias and passphrase from your old installation and select the keystore as the file to import.

  6. Continue through the Wizard to complete your installation.
